How it all started…

As far back as I can remember, flowers have always held a special place in my heart. There is something about walking into a room and seeing a beautiful fresh bouquet in a simple mason jar that brings happiness and joy to my soul. Simply fresh…simply beautiful. It was the summer of 2018 where I stumbled across a website about flower farming that changed everything for me… I became obsessed. Flower farming? I had no idea there was such a thing. It was at that moment I knew it was something I wanted to explore and learn more about.

While I briefly worked for a florist in college and my parents had a small nursery selling bedding plants….flowers were only ever a hobby for me. I took the corporate path and have been working full time in sourcing for the last 20 years. Even though this path has allowed me the ability to travel all across the world, meet and work with some of the brightest people it’s never fully satisfied me. I always wanted to do something with flowers. Honestly, cut flowers never occurred to me. I always associated cut flowers with places like South America or Europe, however through my obsession I realized that specialty cut flowers can be grown locally with sustainable, organic practices in mind. I’m thankful that my husband John encouraged me to follow my dreams and explore flower farming. And so this begins our journey of farming and raising our two young children in an environment that brings us back to nature, getting our hands dirty, and teaching them the value of hard work and chasing your dreams even if it seems unobtainable.
